SyncroTESS at a glance
SyncroTESS can be individually and flexibly set-up to meet specific customer requirements. This is made possible by the modular design of the software. The important quality features of good planning and dispatch are supported by the following three core modules:
- real-time optimisation
- availability-to-promise check for order taking
- pre-planning and scenario management
Fast and Efficient – Real-time Optimisation
The real-time optimisation application facilitates rapid reactions to unforeseen events, such as delays due to traffic jams, ad-hoc orders arriving or unplanned changes to orders. To achieve this, the system re-schedules all orders and deliveries witin a few seconds to include all new events that occur. The easy-to-read graphical interface gives the dispatcher clear and comprehensible recommendations for the most cost-efficient processing of every order. This allows building material producers to work proactively on service levels and plan quality throughout the day.
Clear and Simple – Availability to Promise Checking
SyncroTESS provides the order taker and scheduler with all the booking information required during the order taking process. The system makes it possible to prevent over-booking of the fleet. Continuously updated information on the truck utilisation allows the order taker or scheduler to negotiate a suitable delivery time window with the customer on the phone. In a matter of a few seconds, while the very order is entered, the system calculates the transport capacity requirement, taking all the relevant order information into consideration. The order taker or scheduler maintains a constant overview of the entire order situation by means of the graphical representation.
Predicting the Future – Pre-planning and Scenario Management
The pre-planning and scenario management functions ensure that the fleet configuration is optimised for the subsequent days. This is where schedulers can analyse the order book and prioritise orders according to the business needs. At the same time, they can maintain all data relating to truck and plant availability. Using this information, the software calculates an optimised delivery schedule for the requested day. The scheduler controls the optimisation by means of various parameters, which help to define service levels and costs for the schedule. Thanks to the advanced SyncroTESS optimisation algorithms, the scheduler is in full control of the “service vs. cost” trade-off.
