INFORM Receives Company Award by the German Association
for Operations Research (GOR)

INFORM is the first company to receive the company award from GOR, which recognises the economic benefits derived from the Operations Research-based INFORM software.

"This award is confirmation of the continuous advancements of our software solutions as well as for the successful development of the entire company during the last years", says Adrian Weiler, INFORM's Vice President. Weiler had the honour of accepting the award during the annual GOR congress.

The jury's choice of the laureate was based on the many projects that INFORM software is involved in. INFORM's systems optimise business processes in a variety of different industries.The jury's president, Prof. Dr. Peter Kleinschmidt of Passau University, put special emphasise on the practical value of INFORM's OR solutions during his honoric speech. "One aspect that we considered to be very important has been the quantifiable benefit to the customer that results from the use of the products," says Kleinschmidt. The performances of the INFORM  Materials Management Division have especially convinced the jury. The inventory value of Deutsche Steinkohle AG was reducable by about 19 Mio. EUR.

Automotive companies such as BMW, DaimlerChrysler and VW use INFORM's Syncro TESS software solution for the allocation of materials delivery by lorries. The average savings amount to 30 %.

The award distinguishes those companies that solve difficult economical and technical issues by means of Operations Research techniques. Developed in England in the 1930s, Operation Research nowadays is mainly used for optimising business processes and other complex systems.
